Latest Covid-19 update:
With government restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus starting to be lifted, some of The Ombudsman’s members have now resumed trading. Therefore, we have started reopening a number of cases.
However as businesses are at different stages of trading and many customer service teams are still unable to submit evidence, all cases cannot be reopened at present. Please be assured we are speaking with members regularly to ascertain their operational status with a view to opening cases as quickly as possible. It is imperative that both customers and businesses are able to engage in the resolution process.
We will notify you once it is possible to re-engage with you to consider your case.
From homewares to perfume, stationery to clothes, this guide is for disputes arising from retail purchases, in shops or online.
It's important to allow the retailer time to put things right. That's why we can only take on a case if the item was purchased over three months ago or you have a letter from the retailer confirming they can no longer handle your complaint.
