The Furniture Ombudsman (TFO) has launched a new mobile site, which means gaining access to its website is even easier, quicker and more convenient for the consumer.
With the ability to visit the TFO website whilst on the go, consumers will be able to browse the site whilst in TFO member stores straight from their mobiles, to find out about the additional reassurance they receive when purchasing from a member of The Furniture Ombudsman.
Commenting on the recently launched mobile site, Head of The Furniture Ombudsman, Kevin Grix said, "It is important that consumers are able to access information about The Furniture Ombudsman via a number of different platforms. The rise in popularity of the modern ‘smartphone' means that many consumers now access the web whilst they are on the move. Not only does our new mobile website provide information about our service, it also means that consumers can use our store locator whilst they are on the move. It utilises modern technology to direct users to their nearest TFO Full Member, whatever their location. This is really helpful for consumers who are out and about and need to know where to shop with extra protection."
As the mobile website explains, all TFO Full Members follow a Code of Practice which demonstrates their commitment to raising standards within the furniture industry. This means that if consumers are not satisfied with their purchase - and the retailer hasn't managed to resolve the problem - they can ask TFO to investigate it. The Furniture Ombudsman will then decide what steps should be taken, so that everyone gets a fair deal.
Consumers can also view a 4 minute film explaining The Furniture Ombudsman service through the mobile site - allowing them to gain a quick and succinct understanding of TFO and what it does to raise consumer confidence within the furniture industry.
TFO are now using quick response (QR) codes within their marketing and is encouraging its members to display QR codes in their stores. This allows consumers to scan the code and link directly to the TFO website, accessing information on TFO within just a few key strokes. The use of QR codes also allows TFO to measure the number of consumers accessing their website from member stores and consequently the success of the mobile site. Additionally, the mobile site features a TFO member store locator, enabling consumers to find the responsible retailers which are located closest to them.
The mobile site is accessible on all smartphones, including the market leaders, iPhone and Blackberry.
